Time to think....

Today while I was working out on the Elliptical machine at the gym, I was watching several elderly people walking the track that adjoins the mini-workout room.
On the lower level, about a dozen teenagers were taking part in a basketball camp-running,passing,dribbling and just doing all kinds of drills.

Since both groups were clearly in my vision, I started wondering what the elders were thinking.
I wondered if they wished they could still run and play like the kids....or if the noise and commotion bothered them......I wondered if they felt like me...like it seemed just a short time ago I WAS one of those kids(except that I was completely NON-athletic)...

Kinda made me sad to think how very quickly life passes-before ya know it you ARE the old person watching the young ones.
I'm definitely on the older side but hopefully I'll remember to make each day count so that I'll enjoy watching those loud kids have a blast, while they dream of bright NBA futures!!!!

Hi Autumn,

Thanks for reading and commenting on my blog. I'm curious (again) how you found it. It would seem we have a lot in common; quilting, antiques, writing, being a child of God. If you want to furthur pursue your interest in writing, check out Bayou Writers Group. (Google it, there's both a blog and a website) We meet the first Saturday of every month at the Carnegie library on Pujo, 10:00. Looking forward to meeting you sometime. I don't get to Sulphur all that often, but I'll definitely stop in when 81 is on Ryan. I'm in LC a lot.
