Recently I bought a book with some really neat ideas for art quilts and I decided to tackle a fall themed one.
I have several large projects going on right now, so it seems I would be busy with them- but it doesn't work that way with me. I have to have several different stages with different skills required, to have a break from each of them. Otherwise I get overwhelmed with the big projects!
Actually, the truth is that I bite off more than I can chew and I need diversion to get through the muddle!!!
Anyway- this pile of fabric scraps and threads is evidence I have started. Choosing fabric(from my stash) cutting, piecing - I just love all the processes! Well , almost all of them.
This particular project calls for a machine quilted background- I don't DO machine quilting.
Well, I decided to bite the bullet and do the background like the pattern said. After all it's only a small background- just a wall hanging; how bad could it be?
Let me answer that for you- BAD!
I really tried but it turned out badly and I promised myself this is the LAST TIME I will bite the bullet on machine quilting!!!! GRRRRRR!
Anyway- I'll get a picture up in the next few days- bad background and all!!!!
