Planning a wedding can be a bit daunting-especially if you are on a limited budget.
In about 6 weeks we will host our youngest daughter's wedding here at our house**there's your first hint*** and I just wondered what other folks do for weddings. That's what this contest is all about. I'll leave hint's here and there and you can post your best guess on this topic. On April 15th(somebody better nudge me then) Ill announce who had the closest guess to the actual budget- and then I'll show you pictures of how it all happened.
There are already several clues on this blog so read through and take your best guess!

We had 3 weddings in 3 years... I would never recommend doing that again! lol Our oldest son was leaving for Iraq and wanted to get married before he left so that if anything happened to him his fiance would be taken care of. We threw together a wedding in no time flat with a lot of answered prayers. We found a pastor who would marry them and agreed to do the marriage prep classes via speaker phone since Nathaniel was at Ft. Campbell and Angie was here in Indianapolis. A girlfriend's grandmother agreed to help by preparing the food for us. We had the reception at our house. We took out the furniture and piled it in the garage and then rented tables and chairs. We erected a party tent on our deck... yep, drilled holes in some of the floorboards to anchor it down and put up this big tent and since it was March and chilly, we sealed the gap betweeen the house and the tent with plastic tarps and put heaters in the tent. 100 people, tons of food served banquet-style and a guitar-playing soldier minstrel later, the wedding and reception came off with very few hiccups. We are coming up on their 2 year anniversary and were blessed that our son came home in one piece to a lovely family. In the end, we spent probably around $2,000 when all was said and done but I wouldn't want to have to do it that way again! Candace B.

That's the way things were done"back in the day". I think that's one of those things that make the day so memorable!

I think this is where I'm supposed to guess...my guess is $1500.
My suggestion is coupons, coupons, coupons. With my brother's wedding we all collected coupons from Michaels and Joanns so they could get much of that stuff cheaper. They also found a friend to do the pictures as well as to video the wedding. Looks like you guys are doing a good job!
My mom totally did my wedding and it was AWESOME. she is so wonderful and creative!!! I have a hunch that you are going to throw something similar...so I am going to guess $2,000. Best of luck!!!!! :)
We hand made tons of stuff for my wedding and my mom and some extended family did the food prep...all of it...and instead of a meal..we did hors deurves. it was fabulous!!! :)
